District Square

This mixed-use development in downtown Haverhill is poised to revitalize a long-underutilized stretch of Merrimac Street, transforming it into a lively, active destination. What was once a two-story parking garage will soon become a vibrant landmark, injecting new life into the city’s eastern gateway. The plan features three buildings surrounding a central public plaza, with ground-level retail and dining that will activate the street and foster community engagement. The plaza will serve as a dynamic gathering space and a key connector between the bustling Merrimac Street and the quieter, residential Park Way. When complete, the master plan will offer 394 rental apartments, 142 parking spaces, 27,000 square feet of resident amenities, and 20,000 square feet of retail space.
